Check out the staircase to this TWA 747-100 TWA N17117 in Chicago. 1976-1977. This aircraft flew for Qantas 1987-1988 in the basic T.W.A. livery with 'On Lease To Qantas' decals. It was flown by Tower Air technical crews with Qantas supplying the cabin crews. It operated its first Qantas revenue service Los Angeles - Honolulu - Nadi - Melbourne as QF18 - December 12, 1987 and was utilized on Melbourne (Tullamarine) - Fiji - Los Angeles services only. Returned at the end of the lease - February 20, 1988
October 2025, as every year, alumni from TWA Maintenance, ATO, and Commissary meet in the south of France.
